In the cold northern winter of our country, the water pipe / faucet is easy to crack, which will cause serious water leakage, light impact on life, and even endanger the safety of family members. So, why do water pipes / taps freeze and crack?

The temperature in northern winter is usually below zero. When the temperature of liquid water is above zero, the water will release heat to the environment. With the decrease of water molecular energy, the energy of thermal movement is not enough to overcome the intermolecular force. So the liquid water will slowly become solid water, that is, frozen. Due to the special structure of water molecules, the volume of solid water is larger than that of liquid water with the same mass (abnormal expansion of water). In this way, water will expand, and the expansion force will be generated on the faucet. When the temperature is low enough, the expansion force will exceed the binding force, and the faucet will be cracked.

So it's not a product quality problem that the faucet is cracked. However, in winter, how to prevent the water pipe / faucet from frost cracking is more important. For the sake of the personal safety and property of family members, special attention should be paid to the prevention and inspection of the water pipe / faucet in winter. If it can be prevented, it can be prevented, and if it cannot be prevented, measures will be taken to remedy it.

Anti freezing measures and remedial measures for faucets:

2. The water will not freeze when it flows in the water pipe. To keep the water pipe from freezing, users can turn on the tap before going to bed at night to let the water flow continuously. When the temperature is low in the morning, it can be avoided to be frozen.

3. At night, the doors and windows should be closed to ensure that the indoor temperature is above 0 ℃. In case of severe cold weather (below - 3 ℃), in order to prevent the faucet from freezing, the most effective way is to turn on the faucet slightly after using water to keep trickling or linear flow, so as to ensure the flow of tap water in the water pipe.

4. Finally, for the frozen water pipe, you should first turn on the faucet, wrap the faucet with hot towel, and then pour warm water to the water pipe slowly along the tap to thaw the water pipe. If there is no water flowing out after pouring to the water meter, it indicates that the water meter has been frozen. At this time, wrap a hot towel on the water meter and sprinkle it with warm water (not higher than 30 ℃) to thaw the water meter. Do not bake the water meter with fire.

5. According to the national standard, all kinds of water nozzles are suitable for the end of cold and hot water supply pipes installed in buildings. The working pressure (static pressure) is not more than 1.0MPa, and the medium temperature is 4 ℃ - 90 ℃.
